Dr. Crete received his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University with a major in Business Administration and minor in Biology/Chemistry. He then continued his studies at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. degree in dentistry.
He is also an alumnus of the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute where he focused his studies in Advanced Restorative Dental Treatment, Complex Occlusion (Bite) Problems, TMJ Syndromes and Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD). He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Pankey Institute and serves in various other capacities at the Institute.
Considering himself to be a life-long learner, Dr. Crete is also committed to impacting the next generation of dentists. He enjoys teaching and coaching young dentists on how to be masters in all aspects of dentistry. He is a member of the Visiting Faculty of the Pankey Institute where he teaches small groups of dentists. He also serves as a Facilitator for various Study Clubs (Pankey Learning Groups) where he mentors young dentists on the clinical, behavioral and practice management aspects of private dental practice.
Dr. Crete has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education in the Art of Smile Design and Cosmetic Dentistry. He has studied at the Center for Esthetic Excellence (Chicago) as well as the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry (New Orleans) where he completed the Cosmetic Dentistry Continuum. He has also studied at the Dawson Center, the Spear Education Center, The Pride Institute, Fortune Practice Management, and various other educational programs.

He provides the highest level of quality in a very personal way that makes even the most anxious patients feel at ease in his chair. He is passionate about delivering excellence in dental care so that his patients can live with optimum dental health throughout their lifetime.
Dr. Crete also has a sincere desire to "give back" to his community. He has served in many community organizations throughout the Grand Rapids area. Among them are the following:

He is also very involved in his profession. Dr. Crete is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In the ADA he has held numerous leadership positions, including: Chairman, Commission on Young Dental Professionals; Washington Health Policy Intern, ADA Washington, DC; Committee on Membership, and the ADA Commission on Young Professionals (Chairman). Locally he is a member of the West Michigan Dental Society where he served as the Chairman of the inaugural Young Dentist Forum and as chair of the Membership Committee.
He and his wife, Mary Ann, have four grown children: Ryan(Angela), Brad, Amy & Molly. They and are involved in their church--Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as Spring Hill Camps, The East Grand Rapids Boosters, The East Grand Rapids Community Foundation, St. John's Home, Blodgett's Babie's Welfare Guild, Catholic Charities of West Michigan, Kids Food Basket, and many other philanthropic organizations.
In his free time, Dr. Crete enjoys skiing, biking, boating, traveling and spending time with his family....especially his new grandson......Mason (proud parents...Angela and Ryan)!
